This page explains the cookies used on PromptScrub and how to control them.

The tool does not need cookies

The redaction tool on the home page works without cookies. The text you paste is held in the page while you work and discarded when you close or reload the tab. It is never written to a cookie, never saved to storage, and never sent anywhere.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. It can be read again on a later visit, which is how sites remember preferences or how advertisers recognise a returning visitor.

Cookies used on this site

Essential cookies. Our web framework may set a session cookie needed for basic operation and security, such as protecting forms against cross-site request forgery. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site, and they carry no advertising or tracking function.

Analytics cookies. We do not currently load an analytics service or set analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and request consent where required before loading it.

Advertising cookies. PromptScrub may display ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve and measure ads. PromptScrub does not provide the text you paste into the tool to advertising providers.

How to control cookies

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings, usually under Privacy. Blocking all cookies may affect how some websites behave, though the redaction tool here will keep working.
