We respect copyright and expect our users to do the same. If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, this page explains how to tell us.

A note on scope

PromptScrub does not host user-submitted content. Text pasted into the tool never reaches our servers, so there is nothing there to remove. This policy therefore concerns the articles, images, and other material we publish ourselves.

Filing a notice

Send your notice to [email protected] with the subject line “DMCA Notice”. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), it must include:

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
• Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
• The URL of the material on this site, specific enough for us to locate it.
• Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

What happens next

We review valid notices promptly and will remove or disable access to material that is found to be infringing. We aim to acknowledge notices within five business days.

Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake, your contact details, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate federal court.

False claims

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages. Please be sure of your claim before filing.
